About Founder and Owner John Sage

John Sage was injured in a snow-skiing accident in 2001 when he was 22 and sustained a T-4 incomplete spinal cord injury. He has some sensation but uses a wheelchair to get around. John quickly adapted to his new lifestyle and retained his passion for life. Since 2001, he has visited Europe 13 times to over 80 cities in his wheelchair.

After his sixth trip to Europe in a wheelchair in the spring of 2008, he realized there had to be a better way to plan a wheelchair accessible trip to Europe. He had spent dozens of hours researching accessibility trip to Southern France and Italy and was still met by accessibility surprises on the trip. This prompted him to start www.SageTraveling.com in 2009.

After helping hundreds of disabled travelers enjoy accessible travel in Europe, John and the team at Sage Traveling decided to expand into the Caribbean!  John has utilized the same first-hand accessibility research methods while traveling around the Caribbean to create the very best accessible experiences for Caribbean travelers!  Contact us to learn more.
