Grand Turk Accessible Tram Tour

image3start-4

The Grand Turk Accessible Tram Tour gives you a unique opportunity to see Grand Turk from top to bottom from an open air-tram. This is a fun and different way for your family to learn about Grand Turk!

Your accessible Grand Turk sightseeing tour begins at the tram station near the cruise terminal. You will board the open-sided tram by using a ramp, and begin your approximately 3 hour tour from the southern end of the island all the way up to the northern tip.

As the open tram winds its way through the beautiful scenery which allows for great photo opportunities, your knowledgeable guide will provide you with fun facts and information about the island and point out old churches, beaches, cannons, windmills, wild horses and donkeys and several historical attractions. On this accessible Grand Turk tour you will make a stop in Cockburn Town, where you will be able to enjoy a cool drink and some local food if you desire (cost not included). You will also have a chance to shop for gifts and souvenirs.

After your stop, you will get back on the tram and head up to the Grand Turk Lighthouse, perched on the northern end of the Grand Turk. The light house was built in 1852 and it is the only light house in the Turks and Caicos. You will also get to see the island’s salt ponds, known as “Salinas”. Your guide will tell you about the natural formation of the saltwater ponds and about the history of the industry, which dates back to the 1600s!

Your accessible tram tour in Grand Turks ends with more interesting sightseeing as you make your way back to the tram station where the tour originated.
